Historic Nauvoo

We took an Amazing trip with our friends to Nauvoo, IL. We got to go through the Nauvoo temple which was BEAUTIFUL! It is definitely one of my favorites. We had such a great experience there. Jacob and Landon didn't love listening to tour guides, but we will definitely go again when they are older.




We got to see the Mississippi river that the pioneers crossed heading to the West.





We traveled just out of Nauvoo to visit carthage jail where the Prophet Joseph Smith was killed by a mob. One picture is showing the window he fell from through the original bullet hole that killed his brother Hyrum Smith. He was such an amazing experience to know what sacrifices he went through to stay faithful to God. It makes me want to be more faithful to the covenants that I've made.




One of Scott's favorite places was the Browning House where there were tons of guns. Jonathon Browning invented this first machine gun.





We took a wagon ride around town.

I seem to get the cutest pictures of Landon when he is sleeping!


A sweet couple opened there house to us and let us stay with them for a couple days. It was only 5 blocks from the temple and we stayed in the upstairs with lots of toys for Jacob and an awesome bathtub!




this trip made me realize even more that Joseph Smith was a real modern day Prophet that restored the gospel of Jesus Christ to this earth. He received many revelations that actually came to pass.
