They left on a Friday and spent the night in the airport.
I felt scared for his safety at first, until he told me they had armed guards at all times protecting them.
They went and volunteered and played soccer at the local orphanage. These kids are so cute!
People waited in line for hours and walked miles to come and get help. Even though there are tons that still need help, they made a big impact on this small community where they were. Scott was one of the couple people are spoke Spanish fluently. This was a good thing for him, because he spent the whole time working with patients and directly with the Doctors that went to be an interpreter and talk with them. Many others had to rotate to be with the Dr. and spent time handing out medications, etc.
He saw a few unique cases, and even got to give a cortizone shot in the knee.
Honduras is one of the poorest countries and so they don't have very good roads or resources available.
The plan was to leave Honduras the next friday and get home on Saturday, but there was a fuel fire in the Miami airport, their first stop in the U.S., so they had to postpone their trip a few days. They didn't leave Honduras until Monday and didn't get home until Tuesday night. Besides that little delay, it was an AWESOME trip!
Here are some birds that would say, wake up, and hola
